Political and Social Commentary

Mitt Romnoid failed the Turing test. Somebody should start a blog called "Clueless Mitt" and collect all the implausible statements that he has made, and accompany it with cartoons. Build up a whole campaign with posters, bumper stickers, buttons, slogans, etc. Maybe that will get the attention of the undecided voters out there. We used to have the Protestant Work Ethic where it was believed that all work added to the common good. Now we have the Christian Property Ethic where it is believed that accumulation of property proves that you have a righteous soul. In other words, “I got mine.” Many Americans think we should be like 17th century England, where the poor were human but not people.

This is the best we can do?

America has a hard decision to make in November about presidential candidates and what they claim they will do if elected. Ten percent of our national debt is caused by the Big Pharma rip-off called Medicare D. Another 10% is student loan defaults, mainly caused by for-profit colleges. Romney says Big Business can do no wrong. Obama says to blame the other guy. These are typical responses for so many issues. Neither will stand up for us against the powerful money interests. Our choices are Clueless vs. Gutless. It’s a two-handed election. One hand to mark your ballot. The other hand to hold your nose.
