Iraq and "The Charge of the Light Brigade"

Our military misadventure in Iraq reminds me of “The Charge of the Light Brigade.”
Our soldiers and Marines are performing heroically against all odds. They are able to inflict losses on the enemy even when burdened with an impossible mission and with incompetent (political) leadership.
Our military personnel are “volley’d and thunder’d” from right and left, from front and rear, and still they carry on, while “All the world wondered.”
And it is all because “Someone had blunder’d.”
There is one part of this analogy we can change. “Their’s not to reason why, Their’s but to do and die” – this does not have to be. We must demand that it end. We must reverse the expansion of the war and bring them home now.
