Decolonization 50 Years After

We are beginning a new decade, the 2010s.

This means that it has been a half century since the 1960s.

The latter decade witnessed the greatest period of decolonization in history. The disintegration of empires was on a global basis.

In the ensuing 50 years, the newly emancipated peoples of the world have generally not made appropriate advancements in economic, social, and political matters. They are not materially or spiritually better off.

It is time for a reassessment of what progress has been achieved and what remains to be done. Let us hope that this will then result in a global rededication of effort and resources to the advancement of human civilization.
